Job Responsibilities

The Building Permit and Administration Unit works with the goal of ensuring lawful and efficient government operations combined with good service.

Our work contributes to creating a sustainable and pleasant living environment for Uddevalla's residents, both today and for future generations.

As a building permit advisor, your main task is to support businesses and individuals in Uddevalla, always based on applicable laws and regulations. You act as an advisor on issues regarding new, extension, and renovation projects with a focus on the Planning and Building Act (PBL). The work is varied and includes close collaboration with colleagues, other businesses, and authorities. You actively work to simplify the building process for the municipality's residents and businesses and continuously keep yourself updated on current legislation and industry developments to provide the best possible service.

We are looking for someone who is solution-oriented, service-minded, and has a strong interest in construction and architecture. To succeed in this role, structure, good collaboration skills, and a willingness to contribute to positive development for both the workgroup and the municipality are required. You are an engaged and unpretentious team player who wants to help exceed customer expectations and assist them in realizing their visions.

  • You handle incoming inquiries about the Planning and Building Act in a lawful and efficient manner.
  • You have extensive contact with the public and businesses to provide qualified advice in accordance with current legislation.
  • You work both independently and in close collaboration with the team through check-ins and joint assessments.
  • You actively participate in creating a good built environment and contribute to sustainable development in Uddevalla.
  • Some processing of building permits may occur.

We offer a stimulating and developing position with great responsibility and many points of contact within and outside the organization.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in a relevant field, such as the Planning and Building Act, or other suitable education combined with work experience.
  • Good communication skills in Swedish, both spoken and written, as well as basic knowledge of English.
  • Experience with digital work and good computer skills.
  • Driver's license (B)

Experience in processing according to PBL or the Environmental Code is meritorious. Other language skills are also considered meritorious.

The position is a fixed-term employment for 6 months.
